The Crow and the Pitcher

It was a hot summer day.

A crow was flying around in search of water.

The heat had made him very thirsty.

But he wasn’t able to find any pond or stream or

any other source of water.

He was getting desperate.

A thirsty crow flying in search of water.

Then, all of a sudden, he saw a pitcher of water on the ground. He immediately flew down to it.

But when he tried to drink water out of it, he couldn’t.

The water was too low inside the pitcher and the crow’s beak couldn’t reach it.

The crow was disappointed and his thirst was becoming unbearable.

But, giving up was not an option!

The thirsty crow sitting next to a pitcher, trying to drink water.

Then an idea came to him.

He saw that there were many small pebbles near the pitcher. He started picking them one by one and dropping them in the pitcher.

As more and more pebbles went inside the pitcher, the water level rose higher and higher.

The crow picking up rocks and putting them in the pitcher.

At last, the water was high enough in the pitcher, that the crow could easily get to it.

He drank his fill!

His smart thinking and hard work had paid off.

With his thirst finally quenched, he flew away to carry on with his day.

The End.

The crow is able to drink water from the pitcher now.
